foodtrip buddies

foodtripbuddy is not just about the food and the trips. Its also about who you shared the trip with. This blog was created out of our numerous food excursions, from simple lunch dates, to house warming activities, birthday celebrations, libres out of nothing and more.

Food is a way of life, its a lifestyle. Its inevitable, you can't live without it, its part of our daily life. We are what we eat. And I am grateful that I get these chance to eat out sometimes and enjoy food most of the time.

foodtripbuddy chronicles my experiences with my food buddies (foobus):

Charles is a Team Leader. Just recently got engaged and is probably busy with his wedding plans. He used to appear in movies as extra. He is a business minded-man and probably a jack-of-all-trades because he can sell any merchandise from swimsuits, sleeping pills, cars and even wet wipes. We don't get to bond with Charles anymore because of schedule constraints. But we see a lot of him on the production floor. Call him Charles. We call him Alzie. But he is Charles Alexander Mascenon.
(Update: As of April 2011, he's gotten married to Lara. Still works as a team leader for Convergys, but we no longer share the same team).

Jojo is an engineer. Like Charles, he is also into business, usually buy and sell and he's good at his craft. Probably the most promising (with promotions) of us all because he hits his metrics well. He's also good at dealing with people and I think almost everyone knows him at Convergys. Just had his second child, a son named Jervin to his wife Claire. He is Vietnamese and he smokes. Julio Rivera is his full name and quotes himself as chickboy, "pwede sa chick, pwede sa boy".
(Update: Jojo was promoted to being a TSS just like Gold and was recently promoted to being a Team Leader, just like Charles)

Gold, as I've called her since we first met, is a "very" tenured agent, going on her fifth year with Convergys. She is my mentor on many things, she introduced me to Facebook, and she's also the one I consulted much when I was starting my blogs. She's a computer techie with her family owning a photography slash video and photo coverage business based in Sampaloc, Manila. Has a son, Euan to her (still) boyfriend/partner Von. They're getting married this December, and Jojo is going to be her ninong. She's on a fruit diet and we are all hoping she gets through it. She just recently got promoted to being a TSS or Team Support Specialist. She's handling supervisor calls, but when irate you'll hear her most famous line "ignorance is not an excuse". Talk about rudeness in the most subtle way...that's Marigold Aubrey Gutierrez.
(Update: Gold resigned from Convergys back in February 2011 and now works part time with his father's video editing shop and also works full time with another call center company)

Aida Desalisa, whom we endearing call Mommy Aida, because she's the oldest in the group is a single mother who raised her children, sent them to good schools and now has a Chef son who manages Ba noi restaurant. She loves to cook and bake. She used to sell merchandise like chocolate cakes, brownies and crinkles and I mean big crinkles. She also cooks good pasta like the spaghetti with meatballs and white sauce. But what I liked most about her cooking is the chocofudge brownies which she cooked only once. She's bent on having a medical operation for her gall stones. And I know how troubled she is at these times. You'll be alright mommy..and with your permission, I'll keep everyone posted.
(Update: She hasn't gone through the operation yet but still contemplating on doing so. Chef son Rob no longer works with Ba Noi. She's moved to a new place and still bakes good pastries)

Grace, or Gracia has the most children, five, in the group and got married at 15 years old to a seafarer named Oliver. Like any mother who wants the best for her children and for herself, she works doubly hard to make both ends meet. She's a self confessed lakwatsera, and takes every time possible to go out with friends, if hubby Oliver is not in the Philippines. She'd probably got the most intriguing character but that's what we liked about her. She's intriguing to a point that she gets very annoying at times. And gladly, we are handling it well. She is Mary Grace Raymundo and she quotes herself on getting married at an early age, "hindi ako maagang lumandi, maaga lang akong napitas". Whatever she meant...its true.
(Update: She had some misunderstanding with our lady foobus, went on AWOL, and last time I heard, she no longer work with Convergys. She left without notice and we don't know where she's at. I'm contemplating of whether keeping her in the foobu list, but for the sake of shared momories, she'll stay here)

Last and certainly the least (that was meant to be a joke Jiezel). I'd consider Jiezel as having the most positive outlook in everything, even to a point of being gullible. She'll initially believe everything you say, and will ask after "totoo ba yun?". She gets excited when it comes to talking about green stuff especially those related to sex. Pardon me for saying this Jiez, she's starved and she makes the most out of it each time her kailot Micheal comes home. He is also a seafarer like Oliver. Mike just got back a few days ago...and we've been betting if Jiez is going to get pregnant again. She has 3 children now, and had just started taking her contraceptive pills a few weeks back. Even so, Jiezel is the longest teammate I've had and I like her for being so positive. We all need that attitude even though she is "pintasera" some times.
(Update: She  resigned after reaching 5 years of tenure with Convergys and also to oversee the development of her growing kids. She's moved to the same subdivison where Jojo lives)
